7th Busan International Comedy Festival, D-100, Release Official Poster!
The 7th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF) has released its official poster 100 days before its grand opening on August 23, 2019. The BICF, first launched in 2013 as the first comedy festival in Asia, has gone on to establish itself as one of the biggest festivals in both Korea and the whole of Asia. Now in its 7th year, the BICF will have a grand opening ceremony on Friday, August 23rd, and create nonstop waves of laughter through Busan for 10 days until Sunday September 1st.
High-quality performances by top-notch international comedy artists and popular domestic comedians await audiences. Expect bursts of laughter regardless of genre, gender or taste. Spectacular, exciting events have been prepared. Especially for this year, there will be more free shows making this year’s festival more accessible and promoting greater connection with audiences.
This year’s official poster added to its significance with a handmade calligraphy title made by the famous novelist Lee Oi-soo, and with a painting illustrated by the popular comedian and webtoon artist Chukapi. Lee Oi-soo wrote the title to promote the prosperity and development of the BICF and Chukapi depicted the moment when Purney and Buddy were performing at Busan beach. This promotional material should spread good perceptions of the festival throughout the SNS universe.
The 7th BICF will provide the greatest global line-up and most ingenious performances in the festival’s history. Audience expectations are sky-high! In its 7th year, the BICF will fill the host city of Busan with laughter for 10 days from August 23rd to September 1st. The performances will occur in several venues in Centum City, Busan and in outdoor concert halls around the city. The BICF is hosted by the Busan International Comedy Festival Organizing Committee and is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Busan Metropolitan City government.
